Re: Back in LOVE with my baby (2001 black catera-sport
I just replaced the following components on mine...
Car has 210,000mi.
New Timing Belt
Water pump
Pulleys
harmonic balancer
coil packs from 3.2L CTS
Suspension:
New sport struts
New rear shocks
New Hydro bushings
New sway bar links
Alignment
Car runs amazing, smooth solid, and powerful. Plan is to drive up to 300k.

I should mention the front end service was under 100$ including alignment.
Bushings were 18$ and sway bar links were 30$. Alignment was 60.
Most clunks come from worn out sway bar links. If tires are not wearing then I think you dont need to change any bushings.
If you lift the car and shake the wheel side to side and you see play you have worn out ball joint on the steering links.
if its up and down then you have wear on the hub bearing.
