Cadillac Cat vs Bobcat.....Bobcat won...FML

So I haven't been on in awhile, things have been really hectic in the last month or so...But some thing happened today that was too terrible not to post....The title says it all. The unfortunate part it that it's my car and not something I found on the web...

wow man, i feel your pain, seem to the bearer of bad car luck also...hopefully the repairs arent too much...tho for our cars that could be 'totalled'

Well, the owner of the company said he would pay cash for the repairs, and didn't want to go through insurance. It looks like I'm going to need a new bumper, a new hood, new light, new lower air dam, and new light trim, not to mention what could be broken beneath the bumper. Basically, if he's fine with cutting me a cheque, I'm getting projection headlights, new hood and a new front facia. After paint, I'm thinking it $3-4K. Plus he's providing a rental, if he's not okay with that, I'll make him go through insurance, and thats going to screw him even worse, because that also needs a police report writen up because the damage is over $1000.

yea it definately seems like youre getting a good deal...im guessing he doesnt realize its only worth 1000 anyway. lol

Bummer I hate seeing these cars smashed in any way...

Looks good. Like the projector lights, wish I could find some cheap ones for mine...how much did the repairs cost?

Thanks, I'm not sure how much the total repairs were. I know the driving lights were $270 a piece, and the headlights were $380 for the pair. I don't know how much they paid for the hood or bumper and bumper rails. Or for paint. I'm kinda concerned about the projectors though, they are angled to far down, and its like the cut off is angled weird.

Ok that's good then I'm guessing insurance picked it up. I didn't think they would since the car value is so low. If u have the shop manua it has a section on aiming them

Actually, the company that hit my car paid for the work, had their guys do it, as they own a body shop as well. My insurance company would not allow a right off for 5k. They just spend 3 on a paint job in January. My car for some reason was valued at $6k, now with the new work, she's been appraised for 7 grand. I'm seriously debating a 3.2 swap.
