Heater Control Valve Empty Heater Control Valve

Post by AmirX 2/10/2013, 16:15

Hey guys, my heater control valve has stopped working, coolant spilling out from behind the engine, question is does the AC not working have anything to do with the heater control valve? My AC hasn't been working for several months and I'm hoping replacing this valve will fix it. Also, I can't find the control valve at any local shop, so I have to order it online which will take a week to ship, do you think I can just put in a T-joint as a temporary fix while the part ships?

Thanks guys.

I found one at the GM dealer and it wasnt expensive at all. YOu can find them for Saab as well and I think a few VWs and Audis use the same part.

For time being you can just hook up the 3 lines with a T untill you get the new part.

Replacement will take about 1hr and you dont have to take the cowl off. I did it in my driveway with some pliers and that was it.

Thanks for the info, Do you know what size T you used as a temp fix?
