What is the part number for the 04 GTO front brake calipers that will fit our cars?

I am new to this forum but I am very interested in this topic. I went to rockauto.com and searched GM but I did not find the vehicle that was referred to so I searched Pontiac and was given a choice for the year, then the Model and then the component. I selected Calipers and there are several choices. Make sure you scroll until you find the Dual Piston Caliper. Please respond if these are not the correct ones since I will be replacing them within the next month or so.

I was also scratching my head on the C5 pads until I searched what that meant and it refers to the Chevrolet Corvette Brake pads and the HB 245 is referring to the Hawk High Performance pads that Cost an Arm. I went back to rockauto.com and searched for the chevrolet, corvette, brakes, pads and found many options to choose from I will be selecting the ceramic ones from Akebono they are reasonably priced.

If I may be so bold as to request that, If Possible, more information be added for us noobies. Thank you all for your valuable input.

The only brakes that fit are from a Pontiac GTO 2004, the 05-06 had larger rotors and thus different brackets and calipers.

Rockauto is your best bet.

I do however find C5 Corvette pads from Autozone priced around 40$/set and those seem to work quite well with my set up.

Thanks for your response. I bought the ceramics for my Father in laws 99 cat from autozone and after a month or so I heard some weird noises like rattle and then squeaking and then a soft grind. Turns out that the passenger side pads had lost about a dimes size worth of material from one end. I have never seen that. The rest of the pads were fine and I cleaned and put them back in so far so good. I bought their Gold series.

that is strange...i went with the standard metallic set, and resurfaced the rotors...yea im cheap that way :-) Anyway, they took a long time to break-in probably a month or more but now the squeaking has gone away, and yes i did put plenty of grease on the back. other than that though, i havent had any other issues with them.

I did research of possibly using the 05-06 brakes from the GTO but the rotor itself has a different shape so you end up with the rotor surface sitting much further in then the OEM ones..

If the OEM Catera rotor was identical to the OEM GTO rotor from the 04 then I would bet money that they would fit but its not the case.

Now my research reveals that we can get a 315, or 330mm rotor from the Opel Vectra VXR and that may be able to use the GTO 05-06 Calipers with C5 pads and even C5 caliper...

More info please. Are the larger rotors the same bolt pattern as the Catera?
