My HID adventures began many months ago when I was looking to improve on the factory HID System.

a) My very first upgrade was new bulbs from TRS but as things prooved, that wasnt enough.

b) Came across JVXs site where he showed me how to mod my A6 Projectors.

That followed with new E30 Lenses and custom shields but in the end the width was still nowhere near where wanted it.

c) Got my hands on RX-NON AFS as thats waht JVX recomended for my project. Swapped out lenses ...

While researching the bushings I found some pictures of the suspension and as a result some cheap polyurethane bushings that will help improve the responsiveness ...

Now the front is 26" and the rear is 26.5"

Before it was 27" front and 26.5" rear....

A month ago the P0171 and P0174 started to come up under the Check Engine Light, and as a result Lean Left and Right Bank.

After reading numerous posts on here it looked like it was the MAF sensor.

Symptoms:

1.Cold Starts, car would hesitate and have a very uneven idle, it sounded like it had some sort of aggressive cam and it was lumping almost sputtering.

2.When warm sometimes it would hesitate on acceleration, ...

UPDATED: 7-4-09

The Catera's front control arm bushings are prone to tearing from either or both, "wear & tear" and improper installation. When they tear the wheels lose alignment (both camber and toe-in) and tire wear increases. A re-alignment is useless as the damaged bushings will cause the wheels to misalign once the car is traveling.

Bob Chen, an Omega owner, found that bushings from the 1989-1995 BMW M5/E34 use a stronger rubber compound that resists tearing. These ...

Sounds like the unit can read DTCs as well as program keys, remotes, and possibly change things inside the BCM, things like when teh doors lock, or when the headlights turn on... etc...

I hope it works on Windows 7 otherwise I ...

ok here is how to have your foglamps on as well as your highbeams.

what you need for this:

      standard(flat) screwdriver

      copper wire

first thing that you want to do is take off the kick panel under the steering wheel.

you do this by unscrewing the two screws towards the back of the panel.

after you get this panel off you will see two fuse/relay boxes.

you want the box on the right with the relays in it.

FYI, there is a large MIVE GTG in Lansing area next weekend (Sun May 18). A few of us will be heading down. I will be bringing my Cat to hang out with some of the euro VW crowd... they usually accept any other German cars pretty well..

We'll meet up with a few other miver's near I69/I75 interchange, then head down I69 around 11am.

Hope to see some of you out there...

This is what I drive when my Catera is in the shop for work... its was my first new car ever, I got it in 2001, and I have had it since then, its one of the best handling subcompacts that I have had my hands on.

I have modified the struts, springs sway bars, bushings and strut braces, it looks high but it handles and outhandles many unsuspecting, sometimes much faster cars...
